Day 31 of 365: Armpits!

Deodorant, what about it? I’ve changed brands because I am trying to get rid of my dark underarms before summer! These are the steps I have been taking to do that.
· Wax or epilate
· Exfoliate/use my spinning brush (actually stolen from hubby)
· Spray with my homemade toner I use for my face (apple cider vinegar & green tea)
· Moisturize with homemade coconut oil lotion and/or shea butter mixture
· Use non-aluminum deodorant (trying Tom's out today)

Today, I realized that my deodorant that I have been using for the past couple of months has aluminum in it. The aluminum may be the culprit to the darkness under my arms along with excessive shaving. I’m testing these theories. Of course, in order to get rid of the darkness will take time and consistency like anything! Journey to lighter armpits begins!

Day 30 of 365: Gym

Oh yea! The gym! It's not glamorous at all, but it is all worth it when I (you) finally get the results you have been working towards. But working out and eating right (20% exercise & 80% diet) must become a lifestyle. It has taken me many years to get this! At one point I just stopped working out and battled my food addiction. Granite, I have never been obese or over 131 pounds, but 131 pounds of non muscle on my 5'3 frame is no bueno my friend. With my better diet full of water, fruits and veggies has helped me shed unwanted fat especially around my stomach.

I could, should write a post about my daily diet to keep me on track and possibly help someone else out there. Right now it is 10:17 PM, which means past my bed time. I have a 6 o'clock appointment with my DVD player! Zcut is assisting me in my body goals! I love Zuzka, she is my best friend (in my head). :)

Whenever the time comes for me to be blessed with a child I pray I retain the motivation to stay fit during and after pregnancy. I would like to be one hot momma! ^_^

Day 29 of 365: DIY Project Day

Today has been an eventful day at our home! I really did not have much to do at work today so I looked up more DIY things on pinterest and YouTube  I came up with a coconut oil lotion that can be used on the hair! OMG it is wonderful! This will most likely be a staple of mine.

Mason made apple butter! It is most delicious! While he was making his dish I made pull apart cinnamon sugar bread from scratch! Yup, I made the dough, kneaded the dough, and let it rise! It taste great! The apple butter on the bread is magical! The house smells blissful, and my taste buds are on their tippy toes begging for more!

Day 28 of 365: Homemade Doggy Stairs

I can't help myself, I'm always butting in on my husbands projects to snap a picture or two!
This time around he took a cardboard box from our neighbors, and started making Izzy Bear some stairs for our couch! ^_^ He did a really good job! All he used was black duck tape, rubber drawer liner, box cutter, and of course the cardboard box!
Does our dog love it? We had to get her use to it by using treats as a lure, but now she's got the hang of it!

Day 27 of 365: My Dog

Today has been an adventure for my little pup! We took her out to the big open field and let her run in the wind! She is so tiny out there. A hawk could swoop down and pick her up if they wanted! EEEKK! She is so photogenic! Love my Izzy Bear. She is the best Christmas gift that me and hubby received!

Day 26 of 365: Sushi and More

While me and hubby waited for 6 o'clock to come around we sat on the couch and lazed about. When it was time to meet up with dear friends at a new restaurant that we have never tried we ate wonderful sushi over lovely conversation.
Once the dinner was over, we stopped to look at a winery and tried to find a place to play pool, that was a fail. Instead of playing pool we made our way through the ghetto infested mall to get Auntie Anne's Pretzels  Yum! Can I say, I'm stuffed!

Day 25 of 365: Date Night/New Spot

Today I had a cankering for finding a new place to go out to eat. We found a spot in our town that we have never eaten at and fell in love with the food and the atmosphere. Uncle Mick's is on our list of date night spots. I'm glad I tried something new! ^_^

Day 24 of 365: Quiet Time With You

This is the first time I have sat in a warm bath since we moved to our first place last February. Not to mention my first time was experienced with my hubby. The dog was sleep, and music was going. Those two factors made our time together blissful.

Day 23 of 365: Choices Choices

I can't help it, it takes me a good bit of time to pick an outfit out for the next day! The final decision always lies in my husbands hands! He said this was okay with the jean button up shirt on or off! ;)

Day 22 of 365: Marriage

Marriage can be hard at times, but I wouldn't leave this man! We have been through the ups and the downs, and we will continue to go through them, but it is all how we manage the ups and downs. We will be fine!

Day 21 of 365: The Dream is Alive

My bud from work brought her 6 month old Yorkie  Chewy was a bit rambunctious and super excited! Poor izzy didn't know what to do, but lie there lol...She's usually the one that is excited about another dog, but I think he was just too much for her. But anyway, today is MLK Day and I do believe I have been apart of making the dream reality. ^_^

Day 20 of 365: Getting Down

Where was I at 2-3 o'clock in the morning? Oh, you know dancing it up at the club until last call! Me and hubby were celebrating a friends birthday. I didn't drink much, but I did dance my butt off! I definitely don't need do a workout. The rest of this day will be spent relaxing on the couch! Cheers to the freaking weekend.

Day 19 of 365: Pistol Squats

Pistol squats! I have never been able to do one of these suckers. Now I can do more than one! As Zuzka says, now I'm part of the cool kids group! haha

Day 18 of 365: Selflessness Within My Selfishness

(photo credit hubby: photo idea mine)
I could post pics of us three all the time, because they are my life. All the things I do are for my love or my puppy. I don't know if my hubby ever feels that way. Yes, my alone time is important, and it is for them because I could go insane and make life miserable if I don't have it! See, there's selflessness within my selfishness haha. I'm smart, I just thought of that!

But seriously, I love them with all my heart.

Day 17 of 365: Legal Apple Pie Moonshine

what is this??? my husband has had the moonshine making bug for awhile now. Instead of going out into the woods to make his own  Alabama moonshine. He got some Everclear, apple cider, apple juice, cinnamon sticks, and brown sugar to make what he calls Apple Pie Moonshine! It is actually really good! Smells just like apple pie! Definitely not good for my healthy diet!  I commend my love. Legal moonshine is the way to go! This possibly has cured is urge to make is own moonshine for real haha.

Day 16 of 365: Marley Twists

SOOOO, who put in these Marley twist extensions? Uh, ME!!
I can't believe it! I'm so happy! I have wanted to learn, and tried before. Thanks to YouTube  I put what I watched to the test, and bow! I'm feeling myself plus this is a great protective style!

Before putting the extensions in I did the following:
* washed hair
* conditioned with GPB conditioner
* put coconut oil on, followed by shea moisture smoothie, followed by a gel and or my mixed oils

I wanted my hair to be as moisturized as possible before putting the twists extensions in. My scalp loves coconut oil as well.

Now lets see how long I can keep these bad boys in!

I Don't Know What's Going to Happen

I’m at work, whaling in self-pity. I will post the picture of the day when I get home, plus the subject will be much lighter in weight.

I’m holding back my tears now. Aunt Flow, as some may call it, is due to arrive so of course I’m more emotional. The emotional bit, started over hubby eating all the ice cream. A gallon tub of ice cream bought 6 days ago is gone, and I only got one scoop of it. I yelled through text message and the conversation went a bit like this:

Me: I can’t wait until you get a job, then maybe I can have more than one taste of stuff
Him: meany
Me: fatty (not literally obese)
Him: whatever

He really does need a job, I looked at his bank account, and I just started crying. I don’t know how he’s going to pay for his things he has to pay for, for much longer. I can’t pay for it. I’m already at my limit. The government already plans to raise the taxes more, so I will be bringing home even less money than before. I’m praying when we file taxes that I won’t owe the state money. I’m saving for a down payment on a house, and I don’t want to go into that money. I went to college for this. *sarcasm*

So, I’m stressed. Hubby is at home every day with the dog, doing not much unless I tell/ask him to do stuff. He takes his army courses every now and then. I don’t know how often he looks or applies for anything. When I do ask what he’s done that day, he says he has not looked or not much. So I’m not asking anymore. I don’t know how to encourage him. I try, but I don’t think it helps. I wish I could make someone hire him, but it doesn’t work that way unfortunately.

I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m thinking of ways to cut back on things. For instance, maybe a phone or there’s a “kitty fund” at work, which employees are supposed to pay $6 a month too. I don’t know how far behind I am on that. I’m thinking about going to my boss to ask her if I cannot pay it, and if the office has a get together, I won’t partake or eat anything that the kitty fund pays for. I won’t expect any card or anything if someone in my family dies and etc. I want to get a nightly part time job, but I will never see my family that way. I’m just scared, I’m really scared.

Day 15 of 365: Marley Twists

Today I was inspired to put in some marley twists! Thing is I had no idea how, until Jillian sent me two youtube videos on how to do it! I think I've done pretty well for my first time! I'm half way done! I started them around 630-ish! I was so caught up in the twisting I almost forgot to post! *gasp*! I'm in the bed as I type against the clock!

Babe will buy two pack of the twisting hair I need in order to complete my next protective style. The wig needs to take a break! I wish I could see the face on the cashier when hubby comes to the counter to buy my hair for me! Bwhaha

Day 14 of 365: My Little Family

So, did I say intrude on my picture guys? Uh, NO! but that's okay, makes for the perfect picture of the day. This is my little family in all their craziness, and I love them for it. There's not much of a dull moment around here.

Today, has been a zwow day! I love Zuzka Light from YouTube  She is the truth! My fitness inspiration for sure. I posted a response video to her channel, maybe it will get accepted! The video is about doing a burpee wherever you may be! ^_^ I happened to be at work. So today has been a productive day work-wise, workout-wise and play-wise!

Day 13 of 365: Happy Sunday

Today, hubby had drill so I went to church solo this time, but then again I wasn't solo. When I got there Jillian Walker joined me for her first service at Centerpointe. It was a good sermon basically about letting the Holly Spirit work through me, you. It is better to "let go, and let God" during difficult/stressful situations that we have no power to change.

Day 12 of 365: Dove, Really?

Today I went to an old coworker/friend's new home today! The house is gorgeous and big! She made some little things for us guest, and one of those little appetizers was dove on a stick! I was hesitant at first, but I really don't mind trying new things. I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually good! Poor little dove went into my tummy.

Day 11 of 365: Folding Clothes?

Folding clothes? Uh, what is that you speak of?
As one can tell, I hate folding clothes! I will wash the clothes all day! But after that, I tend to procrastinate big time! I must do better I know. In my head, at this very moment clothes are being put away, and nicely folded and tucked away in their designated spaces. In my HEAD! haha

As I digress, this photo is of my lovely flowers, my husband bought me in order to be on display in our one bed room, one bath apartment before our housewarming/wedding reception/bridal party showed up the next day at our place. September 15th is the day I felt like I got married all over again to my lovely husband, while also feeling like a princess. Why? Because, I finally after two years put that wedding dress on. that I bought only to never where in a real wedding. Yes, no real wedding, just a nice court house wedding with our immediate loved ones. Would I change that in order to have the most fanciest wedding? NEVER! I loved how we showcased our love, simple and most of all in a CHEAP manor.

Day 10 of 365: Dog Tongue and Other Jumble

This pup is so photogenic. My hubby took the first picture. He did a good job, and being how she faced the right way in order to get a perfect shot, he captured the moment. She sleeps with her tongue slightly out and her eyes a tad bit open.

On another note, I got paid today and paid the bills, and went grocery shopping. We were running on just about nothing! The best part of doing the big grocery shopping we went to Winn-dixie, and we bought over $200 worth of food, and paid only $142. They have great deals on meat and other essentials, not to mention fuel perks, that can be used at Shell Stations. We saved 74 dollars. That's a lot of money for people that like to save like me! I will be cooking meals that will be able to last for awhile, like I made a big pot of spaghetti, pop up pie, and fried plantains. Of course, all that was mentioned was not the most healthiest. We eat healthy 90% of the time though.

Speaking of health, I have been on a healthy journey for awhile now. I have seen such an improvement with my problem area, called my stomach. As the going says, "you are what you eat"!

Day 9 of 365: My Love

I kissed a boy, and I liked it! The look on his face is saying "Babe, hurry and take this picture so I can wipe this off my face" haha. I love this boy. He makes my days better.

Day 8 of 365: Photoshop and Loathing

So, my dear hubby gave me the idea to do a Photoshop project that came from a book called 50 Photo Projects that my best friend bought me for my birthday. It's really cool how it came out. I am pleased for my first try!

Aside from my picture of the day, today as been an emotional roller coaster. I looked at people on Facebook and either saw how there 2013 has been going marvelously for them or there are pictures of their wonderful travels across the world, while me and hubby are pretty much struggling. It's not fun, this year has started off in the dumps, and I'm trying to climb through the trash to see the light! I don't want to be an envious monster. Should I just smile in order to trick my brain into thinking that everything is okay?! Grant it, we do not have it as bad as it could be. I'm just disappointed that we are not where I wanted us to be in this new year. The Master above must have another plan that I'm not quite seeing just yet. Tomorrow is a new day, and I will be okay! Just smile.

Day 6 of 365: Too Cold For Angels to Fly

Being in the south the weather doesn't get to 0 and below or snow for that matter, but tonight the air is like a sharp bite! So what I like to do instead of frolicking outside is knit! I went to my best friend's house yesterday, and caught her before she threw away some clothes she couldn't wear anymore. Not only did I get some nice jeans and shirts, I got a lot of old t-shirts that made this wonderful big ball! I will most likely make a bathroom rug with it and give it to her. She had a hard time letting go of some of the shirts, but this way she will always have a memory of her clothes as she gets out of the shower!

Day 5 of 365: The Weekend Review

The dinner table is where I'm sitting at this moment. This poor dinner table was given to us by my in-laws, but it hardly ever gets used as a dinning establishment. Instead, it's the wasting ground for any and everything. Today, but today it is in use as my weekend in review of my life on this blog. I went to the very beginning (2010), and I remembered a wonderful blog I used to read almost everyday! She was like an online "friend", but not the typical friend.

If I were to define the term "friend":
    * A person who acts as a supporter of a cause, organization, or country by giving financial or
      other help
   * A person who is not an enemy or who is on the same side
   * A familiar or helpful thing
*A contact  associated with social networking      or an acquaintance or a stranger one comes across

I would call her blog friend, because reading this person's blog was like getting to know someone new who played a part in helping me to help myself, she was/is not an enemy, and her blog was a familiar thing in my life via social media for a long while.  At that time in my life she inspired me to pick up my photography craft, to better my writing, to think about why it is I do the things I do whether good or bad. She doesn't know me personally, she doesn't know me at all, but that is okay. Life works in mysterious ways or should I say the internet works in mysterious ways.

Day 4 of 365: Missing the Picture

Don't you just hate it when you see all these perfect picture moments in nature but you can't stop to capture that moment, because you can't be late for work and also stop traffic? Yup! I hate it when that happens!

I left work early to stop at this spot to get a picture of the day. The frost bite on the foliage  It's a lovely sight, because Alabama doesn't get snow but once every 10 years!

I had to throw in an extra picture, because my pup is the cutest thing ever, and she is also not feeling so good. Poor thing had her first vet visit. As I type she is resting away in my lap, listening for the door.

Day 3 of 365: Outfit of my Day

Today was an okay day, it was definitely a long work day. Thank God tomorrow is Friday! Izzy bear gets her first visit to the vet! Hopefully she is in tip top condition!

I have been wearing my hair in a lace wig or a beanie hat. I've been lazy with it for the past couple of weeks, but tomorrow or this weekend i have to wash it!

So lets explain this outfit, I through it together in a rush!

Scarf: from mother which means from the thrift store
Dress: Urban Outfiters
Belt: Target
Tights: Charlotte Russe
Boots: JcPenny's for $5 ^_^

Day 2 of 365 : What Happened

At work is where this picture was taken, and this is the day payroll told us workers that social security is taking more money out of our paychecks. (thanks Obama and all you other legislative leaders for nothing) On top of that, the job my husband interviewed for fell through. So, the only thing I could do in that moment was cry.

I don't know how we are going to make it, but there is a small piece of hope that I'm trying to still cling to.

I would go watch some TV now, but our Dish hasn't been working for the past two days, and I pay for the crummy service. Cheers to 2013, you are already starting out in the best way imaginable.
