Day 59 of 365: The Pooch Solution

I have been on a heathy life style change for a while now, but I've been having issues with the infamous pooch!!! I went to Pinterest and found a solution to the problem! My conclusion is that my hips are not forward! Because I have a desk job and I do work my legs a lot my hips are tight and my flexors are out of wack! Due to Pinterest I've also found stretches to help get rid of my hip tension. I shall be working on this!

With just a forward hip the pooch is nearly gone! Amazeballs! Knowledge is the power to change for the better!

Day 58 of 365: My Little Family

Let's start with work. It was pretty boring today I wanted to shoot myself (not literally). I had to go to the boss about my other job. She was reluctant to tell me it was okay that I work through lunches and leave at 4. Maybe it was just her facial expression that was throwing me off. She's like my mom when it comes to those faces!

I got home and hubby fulfilled my request to have the house clean! Very happy about that because I just can't function when it's a mess! Speaking of functioning I get home and completely loose my ability to NOT be clumsy!

On a lighter note my hubby and Izzy bear Were apparently both working on the computer. I swear that dog is a Human on the inside!

Day 57 of 365: Jobs

While I'm waiting to start training at my new place of employment I went to my jobs old office space as well as to see my beloved Vira real quick.

Our office moved to another newer space last fall. The old space is now part of a bar. They have really spruced the place up! It's very cozy. Downtown has its beauty for sure. I'm glad I work down here!

Day 56 of 365: Unfocused and Cold

Yup, that's my heated blanket. I keep it at work because my office is always freezing!!! They can't change it either! Makes me slightly ill. Not only was I cold at work, but very unfocused. It took me awhile to get into the grove of things. Then I had to be stuck in my office practically all day because I had phones. To say the least I get anxious having to sit for 9 hrs!

Day 55 of 365: A Nice Sunday

Hubby made the best mudslide EVER!!!! He's my own personal mixoligist!

So, for my picture of the day I was going to post a picture of my hubby and my dog, but something was completely off about the picture. It was slightly embarrassing so I'm not going to post it! Lets just say we despretely need a new couch! Underneath the picture was going to read that these two have my heart. My husband has been there for me through the thick and the thin, the good and the bad.  He knows me better than I know myself! I could say more, but it is almost bed time and I need to get ready for work tomorrow. My dog, believe it or not has been the stepping stone I needed in order to face the possibility of having a child. I have become motherly, me! I was scared about that, but now I've realized that when it comes to my own I'm there. Other people's children or dogs I'm not on board, but my own I'm all for!

Also, today one of my besties came down from ATL to visit! We had a good time chit chatting over bbq at Jim n' Nicks! I laughed so hard with her and Trina! I wish we lived closer again! I'm sad I didn't take any pictures!!!! What is wrong with me! I guess I was caught up in their company and laughter to even care.

Day 54 of 365: Crossfit, Goodwill, and Izzy Terror

So this morning me and hubs woke up and went to Crossfit to go throught a trial run. It was intense and fun at the same time. We liked the class setting because it helps with motivation to push!!!

After we got back I went to Goodwill and Burkes to look for nice workout clothes as well as just to look. I found a lovely Banana Republic black dress for $5 and two other things at 3. One of those was a nice workout jacket. Burkes was for my workout pants unfortunately they weren't 3 dollars more like 14, but they are hot hot and make me more motivated to workout! If you look good, you feel good!

The day is ending with getting taxes filed with Turbo Tax at the in laws and watching Izzy Bear terrorize my mother in laws three dogs. They do not like her at all it's sad because all she wants is to play, but she is completely socially awkward with her kind. We really want to get her a friend soon. We have yet to meet another dog that likes her. Poor thing. My over protective motherly-side showed through, because I couldn't handle it when the other dogs would show teeth and growl at her. She wasn't getting the hint, that those growls and teeth meant back up or I'll bite! Ugh, made me so nervous! But hubby said let her learn on her own...So I would just not watch! haha

Day 53 of 365: Mom's Birthday Dinner

Today we met up with my mom and sister for my mother's late birthday dinner. Her actually birthday was yesterday. I got my mom a purse/bag for her school books. She said she really liked it, so that was a success. My mom isn't scared to tell me she doesn't like something I've gotten her! My mom has these crazy looks when she's talking to people. For example, the picture below lol...She looks like she want's to punch hubby in the face for having a talk about the GI Bill. She means well. Happy 46th Birthday!!!

Day 52 of 365: 30 Minute Vacation

I sent hubby this picture and he said what are y'all doing? Looks like you're on vacation. ha! I wish! No vacation for this lad. Me and Heather decided to walk downtown to the local cafe. It was nice to get out of the office and walk in the nice weather Alabama produced.

*Hair Note*

I touch my hair way too much when straight which causes split end galore! My hair needs protective styles in order to retain length. Having hair down for more than 1 day is just about all I can do. Not so happy about that, but it is what it is.

Day 51 of 365: Taxes and Astrology

So once again, I almost missed posting for the day again.  I was caught up watching American Idol with hubby and Izzy.

But since I was going to do this today the picture seemed appropriate. I have yet to file taxes, and we are going to work on that as soon as we find out if we can use mom-n-laws turbo tax! I feel like the military base, though the service is free, doesn't do all they can to help us get back as much as I/we deserve. So cheers to filing taxes on our own for the first time!

Side note*
apparently Sagittarius and Taurus  aren't compatible! BAH HUMBUG! But  Scorpio's and Taurus are ;). I will claim Scorpio, because me and hubby are perfect for each other :P
F astrology!

Day 50 of 365: Begging-Typing Izzy

Today has been nothing special. Right now I'm trying to type 5444444444777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777 but as you see my dog is trying to type for me!

ANYWAY! .+++++++++++++++ (izzy typing)
I will say I did go to panera bread with my coworker friend and tried there broccoli cheddar soup. The creamy substance was yummy, especially with their bread! I will have to put that on my "get list" when I go back.

Speaking of food, the picture of the day is of izzy bear acting like we don't feed her. I was trying to eat my dinner, and she was just giving the sad face the whole time! haha Gotta love our pets! They are like people sometimes.

Hair Note:

I'm working out just about everyday, and I really didn't  want to stop doing that because of my straight hair. So I went to ahead and did my work out this morning, and unfortunately my roots are back to being textured. UGH...makes me kind of sad, but what can you do? I don't want to put anymore heat on it. I'll just let it ride until I have to wash my hair.

Day 49 of 365: Roller Set Adventure

So today has been a complete hair day! I had to get up early to workout so that I could co wash my hair and test which products work best to do the roller set. What I found is that a tad bit of Giovanni conditioner, setting lotion from Jane Carter Solutions, and a little bit of Eco styler gel. I will say this roller setting didn't come to me with ease. After doing the middle in a good pace, the sides were a struggle, then I didn't have enough rollers! So I improvised by adding my curl formers to the mix.

I used my diffuser on my hair until my brother came with hooded dryer. I stayed under there for a little bit over 30 minutes. The curls turned out wonderful and my ends were straight, but my roots were still textured. I could have worn it as is, but I got curious and just flat ironed my hair.
I found that the treseme heat protector spray did a better job than the serum. I used a heat tempture of 400. 350 degrees did okay, but I wanted better. I'm pretty sure this time I did not acquire heat damage. I had no oils in my hair this time. Coconut oil was added after everything was said and done.

I can't believe how long my hair is! I've never had hair this long. I went through my old pictures of when i first started my healthy hair journey and almost cried. I've came a long way, and have learned so much! I'm definitely wiser than I was when I was 21!

Day 47 and 48 of 365: Lake House Syndrome

Day 47 was Saturday. After hubby worked hard redoing part of the side of the cabin his mom took us to Oscars. I have never been there, but that place is the epitome of a bad diet! FRIED FRIED FRIED! My arteries are probably still on their way to being clogged!

Good Lord was Saturday rough for my allergies. I can't help how my body reacts. I tried to stick it out and stay till Monday, but to no avail I could not make it! I was snotty, sneezy, coughy, eyes itchy, and just ill! I knew it was the house, because when I would get out of the cabin I could breath!

When we got back from the fried food fiasco I drank just about a whole bottle of wine, and couldn't stay up very long after that. I felt like I was dying! So I had to make the decision.

Day 48 is today! The decision was to go home! The dog was not letting us sleep in, and hubby said he was fighting for his spot in the bed all night. I thought I would cut him some slack, and to just go home. He wanted to keep Izzy, so I'm sitting here solo. I'm fine being here alone, but I must say it's much more fun with my hubby and puppy here. If it wasn't for my allergies, I would still be there with them. My body just wasn't having it!
To keep myself busy, I cleaned up a little bit, went to the store to find my mom a birthday gift, as well as ran some other errands, and did my hair!

HAIR, WHAT I DID
1. detangled hair with rosemary tea water, GPD conditioner, and olive oil
2. let that stay in hair for awhile
3. washed hair with my clay/ACV mask (pictured below)
4. conditioned with treseme split remedy and rinsed out with cold water
5. twisted into 8 twists with homemade coconut oil mix

Tomorrow I"m going to try my hand at a roller set. I hope it turns out like I want! EH! *fingers crossed*

Day 46 of 365: Lake Bound

Hunny called and said "hey want to get away for a bit and go to Lake Martin?" Sure babe, I guess so! So as I type we (including izzybear) are headed to the cabin so we can help fix it up and hang out with family, play some rummy, and get a little tipsy off wine! Cheers to the freaking weekend! The simple things have the biggest impact.

Day 45 of 365: Love Day

Happy Valentines Day! My love bought me Black Jamaican Castor oil!!! Sounds non romantic but it's perfect to me! It's what I've been wanting! After receiving my gift we went searching in platos closet for some khakis but to no avail found nothing. Instead of searching elsewhere for them hubby took us to the cities winery, and bought a bottle of red wine. Being how it's a holiday the line was very long, but we made it! Next was food, because I didn't feel like cooking, a restaurant it was! For some reason I've been craving the elegant Zaxby's so that's what I got lol! I saved all my calories for it too! Hubby got Quiznos, so we sat in the shopping plaza and ate our romantic dinner! It was simply great, we laughed and talked of old and new times! It's been a good Love Day! I can't complain at all! I know hubby can't complain either because after our movie (Taken 2) he got a full body 30 minute massage. I'm pretty pleased with my massaging skills...Maybe the bottle of red wine made my hands magical! Hubby definitely thought so!

Day 44 of 365: 1st Grade and Love Language

My coworker came by and passed out all these v-day cards to everyone. So nice. Made me feel like I was in 1st grade lol!

On another note! I got the job! Ill be working at the baseball stadium this summer as the cashier/beer portal girl. Let the tips roll in. I wonder how many days a week ill get, and if I will like my co-workers, because I don't find many of my coworkers at my full time job to be too cool.

Tomorrow is valentines day I wonder what hubby will think to do! I know what I'm doing for him and he will enjoy it! :) We for the most part have good love language skills! Love language equals listening to your partner and fulfilling those needs without being asked! At least that's how I feel about it. For example, if hubby is talking to me about wanting that fancy massage chair from brookstone, but I know we can't afford it right now, the perfect gift for vday would be an awesome massage from me! Listening and putting into action!

Day 43 of 365: Old Movies and Stuff

Yea I guess I'm getting desperate. I took a picture of a picture. I haven't been taking pictures while I'm out! Then I get home and it's 9 something and I remember "oh snap my picture of the day"! I want to see this movie again. It came out the year I was born, 1988. I remember having a stuffed animal for this movie, Oliver.

I decided to not be lazy though. I went outside and took pictures in the dark! lol...I'm dedicated!

I'm going to go off topic now. Today I got a phone call for an interview to work at a baseball stadium 3 minutes from my full time job. So hopefully, I'll be adding this part-time summer job to my resume. We need the extra money. All proceeds will be going towards savings! Lets pray for the best!

Day 42 of 365: Coconut for Coconut

Today's picture is nothing artistic or spectacular, but I am show casing the fact that yes, I am an addict. First step to getting better is admitting. haha Okay, I'm not giving up my coconut oil! This is the best thing that has happened to my hair and skin. I have yet to use coconut oil in cooking, but that is fine with me! At least for now!

It has so many benefits! Just take a Google search around the block, and maybe you'll get addicted too! I mix the coconut oil with other things in order to make my own conditioner/lotion. It penetrates and does the job!

Day 41 of 365: The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is our show!! It has finally came back on and we are freaking excited! I've also gotten hooked on Revenge on ABC!

The only downfall tonight is that the Grammys are on at the same time as our show! :( I'm missing JT's lovely performance ugh! Dreaminess!

Day 40 of 365: S'mores Please

This Saturday started off with me cooking up a storm, then sleeping till it was time to go to a bonfire that we were invited to. For the first time ever, I made a s'mores! I must say it was pretty good! Why have I never had one? I guess there was never a moment where there was ingredients and a bonfire going at the same time until tonight!

On our way to the bonfire we passed some interesting views as well...

39 of 365: TGIF

Today is Friday! It's been eventful night. Had a date with hubby at Chappys then headed to pet smart with izzy bear. She's pooped from that trip! She was a star there!

Tomorrow is bonfire and possible a roller set adventure?

Day 38 of 365: Guilty Pleasure

This stuff was my drug when I was younger and I forgot about it as I grew! Today it is my guilty pleasure :)

So we got izzy bear a new toy and she loves! My little monkey!

Day 37 of 365: Naturally Free

So, this is me. No makeup, no filters, and I'm okay with that. It has taken me a long time to be okay with it. I was never bullied or called ugly, at least not to my face, but deep down i felt ugly. Of course we all have those days when we don't feel attractive at all, but to be an everyday occurrence isn't healthy. I had to learn to not compare myself to other beautiful ladies. I had to learn that I am beautiful in my own way. This is me. Oh, and my dog!

Day 36 of 365: Laundry Mat

It is my first time ever going to a laundry mat, and I actually had fun with hubby! Mainly because I did a little photo shoot with him...Time went by fairy quickly...This was also the first time I watched laundry spin in the machine! Quite the entertainment!

*all photos are mine*

Day 35 of 365: yoga?

Well I didn't take a picture today until now! I'm trying this yoga pose! Hubby showed me a picture of a girl that is going through the cross fit program and she was doing a one hand stand with legs spread like a "y". I was like "I can do that!!" Okay so it's not as easy as it looked! So I opted for this yoga pose! I work out practically everyday, I will get there! One-hand stand here I come!

Day 34 of 365: Household Duties Sunday

Sundays are considered the day of rest ! But instead of resting I'm cleaning the whole house thoroughly, working out, and doing my hair cleaning routine for the week. Oh, not to mention waking up at 7:30 am (thanks to izzy) to get ready for church. I'm tired right now to say the least. Hubby had work and he is on the sick side. Poor baby, he said he's getting better though.

So about my hair, today I did an holistic routine. I cleaned my hair with bentonite clay/apple cider vinegar, washed out, then rinsed with homemade rosemary water. The rosemary water is to help combat dandruff. For a moisturizer my DIY coconut moisturizer and shea butter mix was used. Ill be wearing twists for the rest of the week or as long as possible! Hoping for the best, because I rather not have to buy commercial hair products anymore. :)

Day 33 of 365: Just Me, My Best Friend, and the Alabama River

Today has been a pretty nice day! I woke up around 7:30 AM and went to a sale at Plato's Closet. The special deal was stuff as many clearance items in a bag (that they supply you with) for only $10. I have never been to a black friday event, but I can now imagine! People were crowded down in these clearance bins just going at it! I had to squeeze my way through! I got what I wanted in the end. A girl I sat with to fold all the clothes we got gave me a skirt! It pays to be nice to people. In all I came out with 12 items for 22 dollars, plus compliments from the cashiers for my folding/rolling technique! Those bags were tiny, but I managed!

After my Plato's closet fiasco, I went on base to see if I could drop some things off to my best friend. We ended up going to the Alabama River to get away and just talk about life! It's a moment I will never forget! She told me that, if it wasn't for me and her sister she doesn't know if she would have made it as far as she has in life. I have been a great inspiration to her, and that made my heart just jump for joy! As she told me, she was slightly tearing up, and was making me want to cry tears of happiness. We have been friends going on 10 years and counting! Love my besty! ^_^

Day 32 of 365: Just Talking About Friday

Happy February 1st!!! I called my mom today to wish her a happy birthday month lol. She laughed and said my name in that way she says my name because I did or said something stupid. Anyway!

I had to post a picture of my pup! She's so adorable in her Christmas hat! When we got her for Christmas she couldn't fit it, but now, she's grown up some! I'm gonna tear up! She's growing so fast! She will be 3 months tomorrow!!! AHHH

WHOO! Thank God today is Friday! Fridays are my favorite! I get to come home from work, do whatever I want with hubby/dog and stay up till the wee hours of the night knitting, watching a movie, or surfing the web if i can make it that far anyway. After all that sleep-in till my heart desires!
This whole week, my helper for transferring phone calls has been out. That means constantly answering phones while trying to do my paper work for the day. What makes it so bad is that the people assigned to picking up the calls I transfer don’t want to corporate or people leave early. Ugh, it’s just annoying, so leaving at 4 o’clock is my treat to this long week!

Now, let’s talk about hair! One of my favorite topics, I do believe my last post about hair was kind of depressing. My hair is pretty much always a battle, a battle to stay as healthy as possible. I’m unable to wear my hair out very often due to the extreme tangling. Protective styles are what I feel like I must stick to for the most part, but today is different. I wore my hair out, and added bangs! It’s so cute! I’ve been wanting bangs because guess what? I have heat damage right there in the front. I will never put my flat iron on 450 again! My hubby even warned me not to do that, and he’s a man with straight hair! Trial and error on my part, trial and error! Speaking of trial and error let’s make a list of what to do’s and not!

TO DO:
Protective styles that is easy to moisturize
Moisturize morning and night
Use treseme split end conditioner
Use a comb once in awhile
Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie as a moisturizer, and then my oil mixture over top
Coconut oil and tea tree oil on scalp is good
Demi-permanent blue/black dye
Ph balancing spray
Carols daughter minoi line

NOT TO DO:
Use ausie moist shampoo (makes scalp itch)
Co-wash with any kind of conditioner (makes scalp itch)
Heat
Wear hair out for long periods of time
Be rough with hair

There is more stuff that I’m just not thinking of right now. But I get the gist! Lol I just want long healthy hair! That’s been my goal! I’ll get there! It’s pretty long now, longer than it’s ever been. I want to be completely holistic with my hair regime...I'm actually using more non-chemical products with my hair as well as my body! This post  has just boosted my desire to be chemical free!

I don’t know how many times people have asked me if this is my real hair. It’s all mine folks! ^_^ I even gave a Natural Hair 101 lesson to my cousin that asked for my help today! :) To top off this Friday night me and hubby got a free Blooming Onion from Outback, because hubby's cousin got the partnership with the restaurant as of yesterday! GO Phil!

Happy Friday!!!
